Little Gaerfields

The Cuckoo bedroom sleeps 3,in a comfortable 6' zip and link bed and single bed and is ensuite. All bedrooms have a hairdryer.

The Blue tits bedroom sleeps 4 in 2 bunk beds, and has a ladder to a mezzanine. There is the option for two mattresses to be placed on the mezzanine, one on top of the other, making a comfortable place to sleep. Then if needed, one mattress can be pulled out and 2 children can sleep on the mezzanine allowing 5 or 6 children to sleep in the Blue tits. A little doorway leads from the mezzanine to a tiny balcony/play area with two little arm chairs for the children to use which overlooks the landing. Further access from the bedroom, is via the granary steps to the garden which is a great way to escape from the grownups and have fun in the garden. The bathroom is across the landing and has a slipper bath. We can put z beds in some bedrooms to adapt sleeping arrangements to suit most party groups from families to hen parties. All bedrooms contain hairdryers.

The Robin bedroom sleeps 3 with a comfortable 5' zip and link bed and single bed. It has an ensuite shower room. All beds are made ready for your arrival and all bedrooms have a hairdryer.

.There are 2 staircases in Little Gaerfields, one leads to The Cuckoo, The Blue Tits and The Robin bedrooms and the other leads to The Owls, The Greenfinch and the Galleried landing. The galleried landing which is shielded from the stairs by a curtain is about 14’ by 5’6” and has a single bed, bedside cabinet and bedside light with room to put another single bed if needed. We like to be accommodating as possible with beds and will help, advise and move beds to suit your group size. All double beds can be unzipped to make singles. There are 5 double beds or 6 doubles with the shepherds hut; they are either 5’ or 6’ and can be unzipped to make singles. With z beds and unzipping the double beds there is the opportunity for 22 single beds in the house and 2 in the shepherds hut.

The Greenfinch bedroom has a comfortable 6' zip and link bed plus a single bed.

The Owls has a comfortable 6 ft zip and link bed plus room for a z bed or cot.

The Woodpecker bedroom is a large self contained bedroom/kitchen with en-suite on the ground floor (22’ by 18’). It has a 6' zip and link bed and single bed on one side of the room and a fitted kitchen on the other side of the room, with space for a z bed and cot. The kitchen units are empty of utensils and contain board games, books etc with lots of worktops, which is perfect for all the paraphernalia that small children and babies need. The 2nd cooker and fridge/freezer have been left in as they are useful for large groups.

Downstairs the one big party room is 35' long with a modern kitchen over looking fields. The dining table seats 20, a small table can be placed on the end to add 2 more. Oak stairs are in the middle of the room leading to the Cuckoo, Robin and Blue tits bedrooms.

The inglenook fireplace and wood burner at the other end furthest from the kitchen with comfortable settee's. The TV is 42" . The inglenook fireplace has a little door in it with a seat hidden behind. Ideal for those party games requiring confessions "or we as have been told" for children to play shop with.

The sitting room has comfortable settee's and armchairs a 36" Tv and an oak stairs to the Greenfinch and Owl bedroom. There is a galliered landing with a curtained off space of about 5'6" by 14' which has a single bed and room for another single bed.

At the bottom of the stairs is an information area with books, leaflets and maps of the area.

The other Tv is in the party room and is 42"

Open from 8am - 6pm everyday and heated.

Pool is 26' by 15' and 4' deep  The pool hall has a changing room with shower etc.

The swimming pool is to the left of the courtyard and the house is to the right.

Sometimes it is possible to use the pool for an hour or two after 6pm. As parents and grandparents we know that children after a long car journey need to expell some energy, it helps if they can have a swim/play in the pool. Please ask before arrival to check if the pool is available.

The swim jet and Far infrared Sauna are £1 for 20 mins of electricity.

The swim jet puts a current in the pool to swim against, making it possible to swim in one place like an exercise machine and time yourself. A great favorite with children as they love to float around the pool on inflatables with the currant. We do not supply inflatables you would need to bring your own.

The Far Infrared is a 2 person sauna, a dry not a wet sauna. The benefits of a Far Infrared sauna's are too numerous to mention here but worth checking on the internet.

The shepherds hut is situated across the farmyard in it's own little garden and has a comfortable 5' zip and link bed with an ensuite shower room.. It can be hired as an extra bedroom if needed with Little Gaerfields and is ideal for those who like to have a little extra space, whether it is teenagers to grandparents. A fun and quirky place to sleep away from it all. It is heated by a electric wood burning stove and is lovely and cosy through the year.

Access and Fire Statement

The shepherds hut is 16’ long by 7’ wide with the door in the middle on the long side. There are 4 windows, one in the door, 2 in the main room and one in the ensuite. Parking for a car is on a level concrete yard and approach is through a wooden 4’ gate across chippings and stone flagstones. Lighting is poor and is from a sensor light on the barn next to it. Torch recommended; there is a wind up one in the shepherds hut. Four steps to enter the hut between 17cm and 20cm with hand rail as per picture. Inside the main room is 202cm by 390cm long, ensuite is 76cm by 202cm. There are 3 double electric sockets in main room and it is heated by a look alike wood burner stove which is a convector heater with additional timer switch if needed. 2 double electric wall lights (as seen in picture) one light in the ensuite. The floorboards are pine with a bathmat for the ensuite. The bed is a 5’ zip and link. The table (60 cm by 80cm), is attached to the wall flips up and is held up by means of a prop. One chair and small side table with drawer which has a kettle and tray on it. The wall of the ensuite has a shelf for storage (202cm by 20cm) Ensuite is 202cm by 76cm. Contains shower (73cm by 73cm) small sink with cupboard above with mirror on door, toilet, bin, cleaning equipment and long handled shovel and brush. During very cold weather the water will be turned off to the en-suite.    The shepherds hut is not suitable for the elderly and infirm. The view from the hut is across the field containing the poultry and orchard. It is set in its own small lawned garden with a slight slope to the field.
