Self catering holiday barns in Herefordshire

Our story...

The Jones family arrived at Upperfields Farm in the 1940’s with Vernons’ Parents and Grandfather. Vernon being born at Upperfields (in the front bedroom) and Sheila on a farm on the side of Garway hill (nearby).

Our roots go deep into the rich Herefordshire soil as Sheila’s family were at Upperfields before the 1900’s, which we think is incredible!

We married in the early 1970’s and carried on the farming tradition of milking cows , hay making, silaging ,and all the other jobs that keep farmers busy through the seasons , not least raising a family.

Our daughters Keri, Stephanie and their families have joined the Team at Upperfields.

In December 2003 the decision was made to give up milking and convert the old stone milking barn into Little Gaerfields holiday home.

Then in 2023 Tre-Vern was born from the old Tin Dutch Straw Barn creating a totally different house than Little Gaerfields which was built 1650 from Herefordshire red sandstone and locally grown trees for beams.

Tre- Vern is a very modern looking house now, spacious , bright and light. Little Gaerfields feels like stepping into history, it wraps you in its arms. Both houses are warm , cosy and inviting you to kick off your shoes , enjoy relaxing times with families and friends or celebrate your special occasion.

Team Upperfields welcome you.
